Victorian Labor Policy Development
Victorian Labor is now in an important stage of our policy development cycle where we are seeking ideas from our party membership. We have a unique policy committee structure with 14 committees working to develop Victorian Labor policy:
- Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders
- Commonwealth Affairs & Federal Relations
- Conservation, Environment & Resources
- Culture, Sport & Tourism
- Economics, Innovation, Employment & Industrial Development
- Education & Youth Affairs
- Health, Community Services & Senior Victorians
- Industrial Affairs
- Justice & Democracy
- LGBTI
- Multicultural Affairs & Population
- Transport
- Urban Affairs, Housing, Local Government & Infrastructure
- Women’s Affairs
Our Policy Committees are currently developing their policy recommendations to take to annual State Conference in August this year. When adopted by State Conference, these policies will form the basis for the 2026 - 2030 Victorian Labor Platform. If you have ideas to contribute to our policy committees or wish to become an associate member, please contact [email protected]
Call for Overseas Volunteers
In any close election, the last votes to decide the outcome in very marginal seats often come from overseas electors who have voted at Australian Embassies and High Commissions.
Labor is seeking overseas-based supporters and volunteers to help hand out voting information at overseas voting centres during the next federal election. Do you know any Australian Labor supporters in London, New York, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, San Francisco, Paris, Guangzhou, Auckland, Taipei, Manila, Bali, or other large overseas cities who can help?
If you know anyone who can help and who is based in a major city where there are many Australians who are likely to be eligible and enrolled to vote (e.g. London, New York, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, San Francisco, Paris, etc.) please ask them to complete the contact form below and mention in the comments section that they would like to help during early voting for the next election.

The Values Statement of the Party is stated hereunder:
Victorian Labor values achieving social justice, fairness, inclusion and equality. The Party is a collective cause and larger than any individual. We value honesty and integrity, and seek to ensure that the Party is a safe, inclusive and respectful environment.
We are proud of our deep roots and history in the labour movement. We support workers organising in union to achieve justice, fairness and equity. Our members, volunteers and supporters are our greatest assets.
Prejudice and discrimination — including sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia — have no place in our party.
We celebrate the diversity of our Party.
We support one another because we are stronger together.
This is Labor.
